Each year Cement Australia reviews and confirms the Apprentices they will be recruiting for the following year and in which locations. In the past, we have recruited Electricians, Mechanical and Diesel Fitters and Boilermaker Apprentices in Gladstone, QLD, Railton, TAS and Cornwall, TAS.

Generally Cement Australia Apprentices start at the beginning of a new year i.e. January, February, March.
No. Apprentices are not required to pay for their apprenticeship. Cement Australia pays for the formal tuition delivered by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). You will also receive a “toolkit” with the relevant tools required for your trade, which you get to keep upon completion.
No. We aren’t able to guarantee a full time position for you at the end of your Apprentice program. Often this depends on the availability of a permanent position in the current team and by merit based selection. An apprenticeship will give you skills and a qualification to work within the broader industry.
You are mostly trained at a Cement Australia site, though throughout the apprenticeship you will be required to attend formal training in your Cert 3 unit of competencies at a Registered Training Organisation eg: TAFE.
Yes. During your apprenticeship you are directly employed by Cement Australia employee and you will be paid wages through payroll in accordance with your relevant Enterprise Agreement. You will be entitled to leave and superannuation payments.
When you commence as an Apprentice with Cement Australia you will be inducted to the site you will work at, be provided PPE and trained in our safety and health standards.
