This privacy policy is issued by Cement Australia Pty Limited (ABN 75 104 053 474) with its registered office at 18 Station Avenue, Darra Qld and it applies to Cement Australia Pty Ltd and Cement Australia Holdings Pty Ltd (ABN 90 001 085 561) and their respective related bodies corporate in Australia (“Cement Australia”).
The protection of personal information in the private sector is required by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) as amended by the Privacy Amendment (Enhancing Privacy) Act 2012 and the Privacy Amendment (Notifiable Data Breaches) Act 2017 (“the Act”). Cement Australia is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals and all employees and officers of Cement Australia are required to comply with the Act and Cement Australia's policies and procedures concerning the protection of personal information.
This Privacy Policy sets out how Cement Australia collects personal information (including credit information) and has been created for the purpose of compliance the Act and the Australian Privacy Principles as set out in the Act.

Personal information is collected by Cement Australia:
- from individuals in response to a request from Cement Australia;
- from other entities in response to a request from Cement Australia or an arrangement for sharing or transferring information between entities;

- when an individual uses Cement Australia’s websites;
- when a completed form or application is submitted to Cement Australia by an individual;
- when a telephone or written compliant is made to Cement Australia;
- when an employment application is sent to Cement Australia;
- when an individual performs any function or engages in any activity as an employee or contractor of Cement Australia;
- when an individual participates in Cement Australia’s supply chain;
- when a form is completed to enter a competition being conducted by Cement Australia;
- when an entry is made in a Cement Australia visitor book or electronic sign-in system;

Why we collect personal information?
The collection of such personal information is necessary for the operation of Cement Australia’s business (cementitious material product, manufacture, transport and supply) and the performance of associated activities in compliance with law and relevant standards. Our website allows you to contact Cement Australia and companies associated with Cement Australia by sending e-mails, for the purposes of:

- requesting information about Cement Australia; or
- making other enquiries.

Your details will only be accessible and used by personnel dealing directly with your request. We may share personal information with our related companies or with contractors performing services for Cement Australia. Retention and Disposal of Personal Information
Cement Australia will only keep personal information it needs for the purpose for which it was collected. Cement Australia will dispose of or de-identify personal information, which is no longer required, in accordance with our document retention procedure.
E-mail Security
In line with our policy on e-mail security, any e-mails that you send will be automatically scanned, which could result in certain attachments and styles of message being automatically blocked and forwarded to our IT administrators in order to authorise the content. This is done purely for IT security purposes and our IT administrators will not access the contents of your e-mails once this process is complete.
Security of Information
You should be aware that the Internet is not a secure environment. If you send us any information, you do so at your own risk. However, Cement Australia uses all reasonable efforts to ensure that any personal information collected is held securely. We store personal information:
- Contained in paper based and other hard copy documents both at our offices and at off-site secure storage facilities; and
- Contained in electronic records, in a controlled and secure environment.
Only authorised personnel who have a need to access personal information to carry out their work will have access to personal information. If a data breach occurs, and your personal information is subject to unauthorised access, disclosure or loss, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner of any unauthorised access, disclosure or loss of your personal information which would be likely to result in serious harm to you or any affected individuals.
If Cement Australia reasonably suspect that there has been unauthorised access or disclosure we will act quickly in carrying out an assessment to determine if there has been an eligible data breach and take all reasonable steps to contain the unauthorised access or disclosure. We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that our assessment is completed within 30 days after we become aware that there are reasonable grounds to suspect an eligible data breach.

Cement Australia is committed to ensuring that personal information we collect and hold is accurate, up to date and complete.
